My favorite bit about this painting is the pond water itself, how it's alive with more than just blue, yellow lighting compliments the flowers and adds to the balance between warm and cool colors. The texture is fabulously done, in what could have become a flat and washy rendition, this is a rich and vibrant mid-spring day, and I am happy to have come across this pond.
