Normally, I'm not a fan of acrylic paintings but the depth of color in this piece really caught my eye on the home age. I think I prefer this style of painting to a similar subject matter found in an impressionist piece. The boldness of the reds against the pond is perfectly counterbalanced with the smartly placed yellows, an artful composition, done with mindful elegance. My favorite bit about this painting is the pond water itself, how it's alive with more than just blue, yellow lighting compliments the flowers and adds to the balance between warm and cool colors. The texture is fabulously done, in what could have become a flat and washy rendition, this is a rich and vibrant mid-spring day, and I am happy to have come across this pond.
